Partnering with the Global Fund in Cameroon's HIV Response
The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is one of the largest multilateral health financing institutions in the world. In Cameroon, the Fund channels its support through a network of Principal Recipients — organizations that manage grants at the national level — and sub-recipients that implement programs on the ground.
CAMNAFAW (the Cameroon National Association for Family Welfare) is one of those Principal Recipients. LEDUCANET, as a community-based implementing partner, works under CAMNAFAW's coordination to deliver HIV prevention, testing, and patient-tracking services in the West Region.
The structure
The funding chain looks like this:
Global Fund → CAMNAFAW (Principal Recipient) → LEDUCANET and other sub-recipients → Communities in the West Region
At each step, there is reporting, accountability, and data flowing in both directions. For LEDUCANET, this means:
- Tracking the patients we support across Bafoussam, Dschang, and La Mifi
- Reporting health data into the national system
- Aligning our programs with the Global Fund's performance framework
- Demonstrating measurable outcomes — not just activity, but results
What this looks like on the ground
For our community health workers, partnership with the Global Fund translates into concrete resources: testing kits, prevention materials, training, and the logistical support needed to reach rural and underserved populations. It also means accountability. We do not claim results we cannot verify.
This is not glamorous work. It is the steady, unglamorous backbone of public health. But it is also the thing that makes the difference: a known face showing up regularly in a village; a test done privately, with dignity; a patient followed up with until they are stable on treatment.

Transparency is a core value at LEDUCANET. We publish what we do and what we spend.
